Avington Park - our local stately home.  Once described by William Cobbett as “one of the prettiest places in the County”, and having played host to Charles II and George IV, the house boasts some wonderful rooms.  The location was mentioned in The Domesday Book (1086) but the current house mostly dates from 1670.
